[Envy takes a bite of the brioche...and then another, larger bite right away. Maybe he was hungrier than he'd thought after all. He also appreciates the closeness, leaning just slightly against France's shoulder.]

[He cracks a tired grin at the question, especially because France did like them.]

Some kind of new Eevee evolution, apparently. A lot of them showed up after everything was over.

[France's lips twitch in knowing amusement to Envy's reaction to the brioche. Once the adrenaline of battle begins to wear off, the hunger hits like a ravenous creature. It's always best to get started early to ease the storm.]

[He leans forward to get down to eye level with the Sylveons, studying them as he rubs absentmindedly at the flour that's caught in his five o'clock shadow.]

They didn't fall out of the sky this time, did they? These don't look quite as hardy as the poodles.

[While France is looking at them, Envy finishes the brioche and the water at lightning speed, looking up when he speaks again.]

They did, actually, but it was more... [he makes a vague gesture with his hands.]

Graceful.

[...Envy's swaying in the chair, just a little.]

There was a big white talking giraffe one with a wheel around it, it was what brought all the new ones last month too. And it fixed everything after the fight was over. And stopped us from getting vaporized by the giant whale and the giant...lava dinosaur.

[It's been a hell of a few days.]

[France's head snaps back at talking giraffe and he just stares at Envy with the sort of blank incomprehension that means he's still hearing what's being said, but he's not processing it at all. He blinks once, twice, looking not dissimilar to a potoo bird.]

[His response is appropriately kneejerk.]

I wonder if it was the same whale that took Cecil to the Moon.

[He shakes his head rapidly as if that'll somehow make him more able to comprehend that mass of information. It clears his head enough that he notices that Envy's starting to noticeably flag. France reaches out and places a steadying hand on Envy's shoulder. He's still obviously shocked, but -]

We can talk about this when you've had some rest. The house didn't sustain much damage from the earthquakes. Do you want more food or just bed?

[At least he didn't mention that the talking giraffe is probably some kind of god. He lets out a quiet laugh.]

I'm not sure if it'll make any more sense later, really.

[Envy reaches one hand up to lightly squeeze France's hand on his shoulder. He's really relieved that France is okay.]

Bed, I think.

[Yeah, gods and kinds of gods are probably not a topic to get into just yet. France is getting a little better at accepting the oddities of this world, but his limits still are pretty, well, limited.]

[He wraps his arms around Envy's shoulders, placing a kiss to his cheek and then upon the lips.]

Life is full of mysteries.

[He stands, keeping an arm securely around Envy's shoulders, lightly nudging towards the direction of the bedroom.]

But even the greatest minds need some sleep to process everything. I will admit: I do not currently feel that even I am the greatest of minds.
