It would be kind of awkward if you put it that way because it assumes that there is a current, foregone conclusion. A better way to approach the situation would be to say something along the lines of, "We dated in my relative past. I would like to date you now, but I would like to know what you think. Please ask me whatever you want to know." It's important that you show that you're open to helping the person you love understand where you are and that you're equally interested in knowing where they are.
