It's raining animals. Even for this world that's considered unusual weather, especially without a matching hurricane.

If their homeland has as many species as Johto does, or even as many as Johto did at first, that would mean...

[And that's when he stops in horror, because for all that there were fewer wild species back then, there were still enough for two months' worth of 'rain', at the very least. That is not a happy discovery.]
