[France is huddled underneath his new comforter, clearly believing that the incoming storm means it's time to be in a continuous state of cold. He looks pleasant enough, though, and Marianne can be spotted stretched out happily on the radiator on the far right of the screen.]

It looks like a big storm in coming in. The locals were really adamant on stocking up their homes for disaster which isn't entirely reassuring.

[He snuggles underneath the comforter a bit more.]

I love winter weather, but this is a little too much even for me. I'm staying inside.

[His expression shifts into a worried one; this is probably the actual reason for this post.]

I hope no one is seriously trying to travel in this...

I probably should discipline her a bit more, but... she's just too cute.

She is indeed quite adorable. I wonder how pretty she'll be when she evolves?

[France beams, his entire demeanor brightening.]

Oh, she'll be a truly beautiful woman then. She'll probably outshine me, but that's only to be expected in this case.

A graceful, elegant fox lady? With strong fire attacks and sharp fangs, perhaps? She looks like she'll become very fast.

[France nods sagely.]

Most certainly. She'll be like a goddess, including the mercurial temperament.

She'll destroy Azalea's Bug-types. Perhaps even Goldenrod's Normal-types, too.

[France is completely preening under all of this praise. Marianne, on the other hand, is too content with her place on the radiator to do anything but make a happy Vul! off-screen.

Thank you for your confidence. It really means a lot to us.

I merely tell it as I see it. Her strength is obvious, as is the bond between the two of you.

[Preening forever. France is going to become insufferable if this keeps up.]

Well, we both try our very best. You have a wonderful relationship with your pokemon as well from what I've seem.

I try my best to raise them as well as I raised Ceodore. But without Rosa here, I fear I cannot bring myself to scold them enough.

[France tilts his head, curious.]

Ceodore and Rosa... Your child and wife, I presume?

Indeed. ...This is the longest period I've spent without seeing them in years. Yet it seems like time goes by so quickly in this world...

It must be hard, especially since you come across as very attached to your family.

[He offers Cecil a sympathetic smile.]

From what you said earlier, I'm guessing that your wife was the disciplinary in the household?

[He smiles softly.] She was, but only compared to me. To be honest, we both tend to spoil him a little. But she was always the one who would tell him that he could not adopt all the stray cats in town. I never had the heart to do it.

[France grins, a little sadly.]

It's very difficult not to spoil a child. I probably spoil Canada far too much but... Well, they're young for such a short period of time.

And then one day you wake up, and suddenly they are old enough to join the kingdom's knighthood and to think about pretty girls. It almost makes you starts regretting the days when they'd ask for a bedtime story.

[France laughs, softly and regretfully, looking away and off to somewhere else.]

Or you wake up one day and you've lost the war and... he's just gone. You can't see him; he doesn't belong to you anymore.

And the next time you really see him, he's all grown up and you're dying on the battlefield together, and you don't really know why...

...That sounds like a sad, painful story. Did it have a happy ending, at least?

[France shrugs, looking back at the screen with a bitter smile.]

International relations are always a double-edged sword. With Canada... it was better in the end than some others. Much better than I expected when England took him.

[He sighs, glancing down again.]

For some reason, Canada is young again and thinks he's still mine. I don't know how it could be, but I'm making up for lost time.

Countries can always forge alliances, at least. Some of them can last quite a long time.

Timeline variations, then? Yours sounds more extreme than mine.

[France shrugs.]

I think... I really have no idea how this is all working. A couple people I know who are here are currently five hundred years back, and Canada is three hundred from me. It's confusing to say the least.

The difference is that great? Remembering what everyone knows and does not know must be an absolute nightmare.

[France grimaces and nods.]

The hardest part is figuring out how to act around them, especially when I know how certain things they reference actually turn out. It's difficult not to react inappropriately.

It would be unfair, dashing their hopes and dreams with future knowledge.

Pretty much. The damage control would probably not be worth it, and they might not even believe me.
