[Post 017] Video/Action for Goldenrod City

[There's rather self-satisfied laughter just off-screen as the 'Gear comes on. It reveals two Ninetales, both with their tails facing the camera. The giggling follows the camera as it goes around and reveals one very cross-looking Marianne and... a derp-face Marianne?]

Change back, Martin. I'm trying to show you off!

[The derp-face Ninetales makes a very un-Ninetales sound, and, after a shimmer of mysterious light, a very pink, very pleased-looking Ditto appears!]

[France makes a cooing sound before the 'Gear is turned to face him. He looks so pleased with himself.]

Isn't he adorable? He will be a perfect French gentleman in no time!

[Yuui blinks at the screen, staring quizically at the creature that reminds him of bubble gum stuck to the bottom of a desk, never meant to see the light of day again. . .Or maybe a goop of icing...?]

Ah, France it looks, rather... Intriguing! What is it, if I might ask?

[France positively beams! He thinks it looks like wet paint, which is a good thing to him.]

It's a Ditto, a Transform pokemon! It can imitate the form of any other pokemon. Did you see what he did with Marianne?

[Marianne hates Martin already.]

[Smiles, pleased to see France so happy. Obviously this ... Ditto? Was quite the find for the man!]

I did, but it extends to any pokemon at all? That is amazing, I could hardly tell any difference!

[He looks rather curious, although poor Marianne...]

[Oh, it is, it is. If enough money is made off eggs, he might be able to cut back some hours at the Restaurant.]

Any pokemon at all. The only difference is really in the face, and with enough practice, I believe Martin could overcome that. He'll be a perfect mimic!

[Poor Marianne indeed.]

That really is amazing, the idea that such a creature could become anything's twin, should it decide to.

[He looked it over more curiously, wondering if it really were possible that it could eventually mimic something that perfectly. Stranger things had happened, and did given the fact that any of them were in this place at all.]

[France nods sagely.]

But out of all the strange things in this place, Dittos are actually quite safe. They're largely the friendly sort.

[On the edge of the screen, Martin wiggles happily as if for emphasis.]

[he observes the thing again for a moment, a small smile quirking on to his lips at the sight.]

It looks positively joyful, actually. It's nice to see that these things can be so friendly, for the most part.

[Mind you the random encounters he had on the road were somewhat frightening at times, as far as he was concerned, not that he would ever let on.]

[The 'Gear's focus goes lopsided briefly before France comes back upright with Martin cuddled in one arm. Don't ask how this is physically possible.]

He's an absolute gentleman.

[France blinks and looks slightly puzzled.]

...Or at least I think he is. A "he", I mean. I still haven't found an indication of gender.

[. . .Isn't going to ask how it's possible, no matter how much he wants to know... He's decided to convince himself that anything is possible in this world OTL...]

Ah, well...

[Yuui takes a moment to look over the creature. Really, it was hard to tell if it was male or female... Was it even possible that it was genderless...?]

It's kind of hard to tell isn't it...? But if it likes it's name, Martin I believe you said, perhaps that's the best

Indication?

[But really, Yuui isn't even sure of that one himself, and it's evident on his face.]

[France frowns and the 'Gear wobbles a bit as he shifts Martin around in his arms as if looking at the Ditto from different angles will solve this mystery. Martin just trills and wriggles happily about, and France eventually gives up, shrugging.]

I really don't know. It's very hard to tell.

Perhaps it's one of those great mysteries of life, only... The kind in this world?

[Yuui sounded uncertain, but there were some things that were better to decide and convince one self of, for one's own peace of mind... The case of the Ditto might just be one of those things.]

[France nods slowly.]

Definitely something part of the oddity of this place. I'm not entirely sure how Martin would even work biologically.

[Yuui smiles a little, despite the rather confusing thoughts.]

Perhaps it is better to not know, and be satisfied with the fact that however it works, it simply does?

[If anything it was much easier on the brain, which was probably a good thing in this place.]

There isn't much point in questioning it too hard. It will only make my head hurt.

[How Martin has a brain when he's a mass of unconformative goo is another question for the ages.]

[Yuui nods, glancing at the pokemon again. It was far too strange to even begin to wonder how the thing worked or how it even existed. There was more than enough for them to hurt their heads over as it was in this world.]

Yes, and some times I think we have more than enough to think of that does that.
