[Post 024] Video/Action for Goldenrod City

[France's face is that of an extremely pleased person when it appears on the network this time around. Yes, he's clearly gloating over something.]

For Easter, I have received two beautiful and lovely additions! I have named the Charmander "Louis," and the Luvdisc is named "Étienne."

[He shifts the 'Gear to capture two, brand-spanking new baby pokemon of very different types!]

[Étienne makes a cheerful bid to cry out Hello! Hello! Won't you be our friend? You will be my friend. Yes, yes, you will whilst throwing a Captivate or two out. Louis, on the other hand, gives the 'Gear's camera a calculating look, his little flame-tipped tail lashing about behind him.]

[France shifts the camera back to himself, although you can still see the two small pokemon in the background; if you're on the paranoid side, you might get the impression Louis has plans.]

Aren't they just the most adorable pair? The sun really does love to shine upon France.

[France grins cockily and blows a kiss to the screen before turning the feed off.]

[ Of course, Yuui has to shift his hold on Sachi a little as the creature becomes so much more uh... Expressive... Than usual. Wriggling joyfully at the very idea of hanging out with a new friend. He was still an only pokemon after all.]

That would be so much fun!! You look really pretty!! I like bright colors! I'm in a place called Violet! But my person, Yuui, keeps talking about leaving soon! I just have to keep an eye on this other egg so he doesn't accidentally cook it!

[Sadly, their conversation is disturbed as France interrupts. Darn these people, getting in the way of serious pokemon conversations...]

It can be nice to have such energetic creatures around, though. It can be pretty uplifting when you are in an off mood.

[Yuui knows all about having rambunctious pokemon... Alllll about it... His own mystery egg, still hasn't hatched. But he has a feeling it's going to soon... Not that he's been able to get very close. Sachi has been terribly protective of it, perhaps afraid he was going to try to do something absurd like scramble it 8|a... The man still has no idea why.]

[Oh my God Étienne already adores this new friend! He jumps around on the lower half of the screen, occasionally knocking France's chest and chin.]

Thank you thank you thank and you're so so so cute, too! I don't know where Violet is, but I hope your person brings you to Goldenrod--I think that's where this place is, I don't really know--real soon! And, yes, cooking eggs is bad! Very bad! You're very smart to keep an eye on it! Oh, we're going to such wonderful friends!

[Humans: they just don't understand. France grimaces briefly, shifting out of Étienne's jumping range, before grinning at Yuui sincerely behind the Luvdisc.]

Very true. He is something of a bundle of joy. I get the impression he can keep himself occupied for a while. Louis, I'll have to train regularly, I think; he seems very focused and will need an outlet for that mental energy.

[Well, maybe it's for the best that Sachi is protective of the egg; a lot of people do attempt to eat theirs.]

[Sachi beams and wiggles, confusing Yuui even more while he tries to talk to France, as he practically bats at the screen in his hands to angle it better. Dammit Yuui, quit hogging the machine B|...]

Oh, really? Thank you very much!! I'm not sure where Violet is either but it must not be far from Goldenrod because he mentions it sometimes when he looks at the map thing! I'll try to convince him to go there!! (Because yes, Yuui will totally understand you Sachi...) I keep a very close eye on the egg! I just know it's going to hatch into a really cool pokemon and then we'll have another new friend and teach him ALL THE COOL THINGS!

[Yuui smiles a little with a nod,]

That is quite amazing, he sounds very clever! I know Sachi needs his fair share of attention though I think it's more to burn his energy...

[ And leaving Sachi to his own devices would probably be a bad idea... Luckily for all involved, the egg not in the least, Yuui was unlikely to try to cook and eat it. Given how... Strange it looked in comparison to the eggs he was used to cooking with. ]

[Étienne is so pleased by Sachi's returning enthusiasm that he bouncing against France harder.]

I'm so so so so so looking forward to meeting you! Oh, I hope the egg hatches soon! We can all have amazing adventures together, and we'll be so amazing that we'll create our own cool things and -

[France finally has had enough of this behavior and gently lifts Étienne to the side where the Luvdisc can no longer be seen and is no longer bouncing off of him. You can hear the resulting protests in the background, though.]

Maybe I should look into training Étienne, too. He does have a bit too much energy.

[Hey! Wait!! I want to talk to my friend more, that's mean!! You shouldn't be greedy with the talky box thing!! It's better to share!! Sachi babbles on as Etienne disappears from his line of vision and France takes over. Well that was just frustrating, when you'd made a new friend!!

Of course, Yuui had no idea what was going on, so he chuckled gently and pat the creature on the head before setting him down to focus on the gear.]

I know it helps quite a bit when you burn off some of their energy, I don't think Sachi would even sleep at night if I didn't take him out to the fields every day.

[Oh, how the social lives of pokemon get stunted by their well-meaning but oblivious trainers...]

[France nods in completely agreement before laughing lightly.]

I've had to keep up a regular training schedule for most of my pokemon; they're far too lively just to be content with the simple lifestyle of a pet. They are much more intelligent than that, and they do deserve the attention.

Yes, they are rather clever in comparison to the animals back where I lived. Not that they weren't smart in their own way there, but they certainly didn't know how to work electronics, or do any of the things that pokemon can do here.

[France hums thoughtfully.]

There have been claims that animals back in my world could figure out rudimentary methods to work basic machines, but certainly not on the level pokemon have. They seem to make regular posts to the network, and they have distinct senses of humor.

[You speak from experience, France.]

[Yuui laughs gently at this, he's noticed more and more often just how unique pokemon could be...]

I've noticed this, even Sachi knows how it works. It's a little harder for him to maneuver it with his stubby little arms but he's been resourceful. I've had to keep a pretty close eye on him since the first time.

[France chuckles, openly amused.]

I think Marianne makes it her mission to teach all my pokemon how to work it if they physically can. They all love being on camera.

[Marianne is definitely one of the most unique cases, Yuui has observed, and he probably wouldn't be surprised if this was true.]

Well they're all so lovely that it's not surprising, France-san. She's something of a good influence on them, perhaps!

[Because Yuui's a complete optimist sometimes and while he has been curious about what on earth Marianne might be thinking sometimes, he still seems to think she's a perfectly pleasant creature.]

[Oh, Yuui. You're such a sweetheart. Marianne is anything but pleasant.]

She certainly is, and thank you.

[Oh, France. You're so blind.]

[They're both probably rather blind in their own way... But it might be for the better though.]

I'm rather hopeful that Sachi will be a good influence on what ever pokemon I eventually get.

[It keeps France happy, thinking his pokemon are perfect. So maybe it should be so.]

He will be. Sachi seems to already have all the qualities of an excellent big brother.

He really seems to sometimes!

[Hyper, runs headfirst into EVERYTHING, plays with everything he can reach, and talks to all strangers... Yes, Sachi is going to be an amazing rolemodel for Yuui's other pokemon.

What is wrong with you, Yuui?]

Trust me: I know a good big brother when I see one. It will be a lovely experience for him.

[...Sachi doesn't sound too different from France sometimes, to be honest. He'll do just fine. ;3]
