[Post 037] Video/Action for Goldenrod City

[France is grinning winningly at the camera, although he looks a little bit tired; it's been a rough past week for him. Still, he's in good spirits (due in part to the music), and, when he speaks, his joy is genuine.]

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone!

[His smile quirks slightly, shifting more into smirking territory.]

I know what I'm going to be doing.

[He chuckles, pleased with himself, eyes dancing.]

What about you?

[Private Video to Envy]

[Scene: a single red rose lain artfully over a white pillow. Lighting: moody but bright enough to take in the details of the scene. Camera: zoom out slowly, revealing a bed in white sheets, rose petals scattered over the surface. Voice over: France, in a low, sultry tone.]

Happy Valentine's Day, Envy.

[Lighting: dimming. Voice over: France, wolfish.]

My hotel room. Nine tonight.

I'll be waiting.

[End Scene.]

_{[He tilts his head, seems to consider it.]}

Not in particular, no. How about a walk? Or do you have anything in mind?

A walk sounds excellent.

[He hums slightly, considering.]

How about the beach? The weather is nice enough for some sea air.

_{[Already breathing in imagined sea air, Coop looks pleased with the suggestion.]}

Crisp air, wonderful scenery - can't go wrong with that. Is twenty minutes good for you?

That works well. I'll meet you by the Radio Tower?

[About twenty minutes later, France arrives outside of the Radio Tower, loitering near the entrance and enjoying the unseasonably warm weather.]

_{[He nods, disconnects and shows up shortly after France. He makes himself known with a happy 'hi' and then proceeds to properly greet the other man with a hug.]

[Looks like that music's done a good job of loosening him up!]}

[France opens his mouth to say "hello" back but is interrupted by the hug. This is greatly in France's interests, so he happily hugs bag, clapping the flat of his right hand lightly against Cooper's upper back.]

Hello to you, too! You're certainly in the spirit.

_{[He chuckles lightly in response and keeps a hand on France's shoulder when he pulls apart a moment or two later.]}

Well, it's the season. Never been a big fan but today, it feels like a good day to be.

[France pouts slightly when Cooper pulls away, but the hand on his shoulder pacifies him enough not to re-invade Cooper's personal space. He grins again, a little lopsided.]

It's never to late to seize the day.

[He wags his eyebrows teasingly.]

I'm always happy to give pointers.

_{[And as a response to that, Cooper's just going to go right ahead and grab France's nose.]

[Yeah, seriously. The way parents do to their kids everywhere. Along with a raised eyebrow, it's probably a rather interesting gesture.]

[He lets go momentarily though, breaking into a somewhat teasing smile as he does, hands now in his pockets.]}

Are you saying you think I could use them?

[!!!]

[OMG WHAT IS HAPPENING FLAILING--]

[France gasps, reaching up and covering his nose once Cooper lets go, staring at him with huge, scandalized eyes.]

What -? Why -?

What was that?!

_{[He looks at France curiously. With a bit of an apology in the way he gestures with an open hand in the universal sign for peace and I-mean-no-harm.]}

Sorry, France, I didn't mean to alarm you.

[France stares at Cooper for a moment, still baffled, before laughing ruefully, rubbing his nose a bit.]

That's an attack I've never seen before.

[He gives Cooper an impressed look.]

It's surprisingly effective.

An attack?

_{[He repeats with a somewhat incredulous grin. WELL it sure wasn't meant as one, but he takes it in stride.]}

How about I give you a warning next time and you can consider it a symbol of affection rather than an assault.

_{[Absolutely no offense taken on Coop's end - he just looks super entertained by the exchange.]}

[France nods, still looking rather impressed.]

It's an interesting tactic, perfect for distracting someone in close quarters.

[He grins playfully at Cooper.]

But if you give me a warning, that gives me time to retaliate. Don't give up your advantages.

Now, France. Who says I'd always go for the nose?

[France bursts out laughing. It takes him a bit to calm down, shaking his head.]

I'll have to be on guard for this devious side of you in the future, it seems.

[He reaches out and loops an arm around Cooper's shoulders.]

Now, if you push me into the sea, we might need to have a discussion.

_{[He readily accepts that arm and starts walking towards that destination, almost as a direct response to the words.]}

Only then? I'm sure you realize that leaves me with a healthy amount of options.

_{[Nothing he's considering, like at all, but he's enjoying the banter.]}

[France follows along with Cooper, turning his head slightly with a wicked smile on his lips.]

Beneath this human form, there is a Nation with over a thousand years of battlefield experience.

[He jostles Cooper slightly, eyes twinkling.]

Are you ready to compete with that?

_{[He looks back, seemingly unconcerned. But there's definitely humour and even a touch of mischief along his eyes and mouth, despite the perfectly even tone.]}

If it's a competition we should establish some ground rules.

_{[..and like it only just occured to him:]}

Or better yet, a defined goal.

[France makes a thoughtful noise and nods sagely.]

Those are valid points. No true and honorable competition is without rules or goals.

[He licks his lips, seriously considering this.]

Perhaps we should create a limit to collateral damage. No one else can be permanently damaged in our efforts.

_{[Cooper raises an eyebrow France's way, quick to accept that rule. It's not like he'd ever planned on doing anything like that anyway.]}

Sounds reasonable. Property damage should be kept to a minimum as well.
