[Post 049] Video/Action for Fourth Wall
[It is happening again. It is happening again.]
[Wrong canon. France has never seen The Giant, although he would probably confuse him with Goliath more than anything else. And, characteristically, that would make France return to his roots and completely freak out.]
[Still, it has some relevance here. The 'Gear seems to be picking up flashes of different cities and towns around Johto and Kanto, like someone is teleporting from one to the next without any real goal or direction.]
[After what amount to a few hours of this, the transmission seems to shutter, like the 'Gear has been fumbled, and panting becomes audible as the camera is turned to focus on a very wind-swept France whose expression is a strange combination of badly suppressed tension and far too much excitement.]
Has anyone ever noticed that all the towns around here look exactly the same? They have exactly the same shops and exactly the same standard layouts, just with some superficial topographical variations! I've noticed before, of course, but when you see them all together -
[He makes a wide, wild gesticulating motion with his free hand, unable to communicate how unsettling it is. Sure, France has planned cities, but nowhere is entirely planned like this.]
Also, what is with these crystals? They're all over the place!

action hi c:
[There's someone behind you, and their voice probably sounds somewhat familiar, if you can recall it from all those years ago.]
I guess this place hasn't changed all that much.
[1:3]
[2:3]
[3:3]
MERLIN!
[The hug will likely feel bonecrushing.]
When did you come back? I missed you!
no subject
[He doesn't let go of Francis just yet, head turning from side to side as he examines his surroundings.]
I just arrived...a few minutes ago, I think? My memory's still sort of hazy 'round the edges. Where is this place?
no subject
You are a sight for sore eyes.
[France blinks and ends up looking about himself as well. Where has he stopped for the moment.]
I think this Fuchsia City. I've only been here once before with Envy, and it was in transit. But, look -
[He holds onto Merlin's wrist with one hand as he points towards the local crystal tower with the other.]
It's got a massive one of these things, too!
no subject
Fuchsia City? I don't remember hearing of that one. [Merlin says slowly, his memories starting to seep back in.] Has everyone moved somewhere? I thought most of the trainers still lived in Goldenrod.
[Unless this is for a visit? His memories might still be a bit scrambled, but he does get the feeling something isn't...right. And he's not thinking just about the crystals.]
A crystal tower? [Merlin turns his head to the side, frowning. Why does this sound so familiar?]
no subject
Ah, I forgot! You left before Kanto was discovered. This is a whole other -
[He makes a disparaging tsking noise.]
Well, what passes as another country in this place. Everyone still inexplicably shows up in New Bark, though, so Goldenrod remains the hub point for those of us from other world. Quite a few people come out this way either to Celadon or Saffron Cities, though. They're all dreadfully boring places, sadly.
[He jabs a finger unnecessarily at the tower.]
These are new, though. They've started sprouting out of the ground in the weird, pointless, and vaguely disturbing way this place has about a week ago. No explanation as usual.
no subject
The train! [The word's blurted out as Merlin suddenly remembers.] We all bought tickets to visit the new city, and the Rockets attacked while we were on the way there. That was the new country, wasn't it?
[His words rush out in a flow, now that the pieces are falling into place.] But it sounds as if you've been exploring it for a while now. So I must've been gone for some time. Months, even.
no subject
My God, it has been a while.
[He stares around for a bit, like he's trying to remember something and failing. When he returns his full attention to Merlin, he's got a strange expression on, a bit lopsided with amusement but strangely old.]
It's still strange for me to experience the passage of time like this. I think you've been gone for two years now. We've explored the majority of both Johto and Kanto, although occasionally this place has continued its love affair with spontaneous generation.
[Crystals everywhere included.]
no subject
[Merlin's voice emerges as a strangled squeak when he finally gets the words out.]
I've really been gone for that long?
no subject
[China doesn't know how he ended up here again, but it's a pleasant change of scenery compared to the barren planet he'd been on just moments ago.]
[1:2]
China?
[2:2]
China! When did you get back?
no subject
Just now. And it is good to see you too, France.
[He smiles through the back pain and pats France on the back a couple of times before untangling himself from the embrace.]
I did not think I would end up back here, though.
no subject
Excuse me sir, but has anyone by the name of Kinzo Ushiromiya come through here?
[Surely she couldn't be the only one going through this...]
no subject
[He smiles, an apologetic expression.]
I'm sorry, mademoiselle, but I can't say that the first name rings any bells for me. I have, however, heard the last name before, so they might have been here at one point in time.
[A really short pause.]
Have we met?
no subject
I don't believe so, signore. Can't say I remember any Frenchmen in particular.
I'm Beatrice. Pleasure to meet you.
[A bright but nervous smile plays on her lips. She'd rather not curtsy, so smiling should be enough.]
action :3
HMPH.
HMPH.]
[1:3]
[France turns towards the sound with a mighty frown on his face.]
Hey -
[2:3]
[3:3]
[The kid's going to get scooped up and hugged close to crushing by France. There is no escape from the hug instinct.]
You're back! When did you get back?
[Today is awesome.]
no subject
I have no idea what they are. They can't just be from the weekend, can they? They were popping up all over the place before it all started.
[Also have a quick kiss on the chin.]
Glad I managed to find you.
no subject
One can never be sure with this place.
[He grins, half-sheepishly, half not at all apologetic.]
I'm glad you managed to find me, too. I have to admit: I got rather over-excited to be able to travel as I can back home.
no subject
[And...what? Envy just assumed that France was teleporting because of the weekend. He looks up at France, confused.]
You mean you can move around like that normally?
no subject
That I can. Although I'm pretty sure it has to be within the known world when I'm back home. I don't remember being able to go places quite as faraway when I was younger. We had to discover new lands first.
no subject
That sounds convenient as hell, not having to mess around with travel so much.
[He pauses, thinking.]
Can you take anyone else with you?
[This sounds like a fun and good idea.]
no subject
I've never tried with anyone who isn't also a Nation. We always assumed that it wasn't a thing we could share.
[Nevermind that in general France liked to appear as normal as possible back home the majority of the time. He doesn't have to do that here, one of the major differences in this world from his own. He snuggles Envy.]
Where do you want to go?
no subject
[Envy is getting enthusiastic about this idea now. And he likes the idea that he'd be the first non-country to do this with France.]
What about...Olivine? If it works, we could go anywhere after.
[They've been there a couple of times so maybe that would help, but not so often that it's a boring idea. He puts his arms around France's back and pulls closer. This seems like something he should hold on for. Also because he's being snuggled.]
no subject
Anywhere. I'll keep that in mind.
[He pictures the lighthouse in Olivine and then leans down as he starts to shift them there to catch Envy's lips in a deep kiss. Envy might notice a feeling that might remind him of passing through a really gusty hallway with really unstable flooring before the smell of the sea enters and the ground re-stabilises. France pulls back enough to look around, a joyous laugh escaping him.]
If I had to decide, this is probably one of the least ugly cities in this place.
no subject
[He's unsteady for a few moments once they've stopped, but then lets out a laugh of his own.]
You know I'd never ask you to go anywhere ugly. So... [His smirk comes back, full force.]
Were you thinking of somewhere else we could go, before?
[Video] idk what I'm doing :T
France is treated to a nice, shaky view of Prussia's face. He's gripping the pokegear in something akin to anger and confusion, and France definitely can't miss the pallidness of his skin.]
FRANCE. FRANCE! FRANCE!!!
[1:2]
[He won't level the 'Gear to respond immediately, though. Can't let Prussia see him get briefly teary over just hearing his voice.]
[Pride, thy name is France.]
[2:2]
PRUSSIA? PRUSSIA? PRUSSIA???
no subject
OI, are you mocking me?? Why don't you man up and do it to my face!
no subject
[Prussia should find himself with another body pressed right up against his back as soon as he says that, a warm puff of breath against the back of his neck and a sharp prodding feeling behind his right kidney. It's just the edge of France's 'Gear, but it probably feels threatening.]
But your face is such a fright.
no subject
Prussia
screamsyells and flails wildly, the Pokegear drops with a clatter and stays forgotten a couple meters away.]no subject
[France doubles over laughing, clutching his own 'Gear against his thigh as he laughs so hard that it probably threatens to burst something around his own kidneys. He laughs so hard that tears escape and it looks pretty gross and completely non-threatening. In fact, France may have crossed the hilarity barrier and may be more crying now than anything else. My God, France, you're never together, but this is pretty alarming.]
Prussia -
[He chokes slightly, half-laugh, half-sob, all emotion.]
You're back.
no subject
He whirls around, bright red and fuming. He's ready to lay it into France, because goddamnit, worst reunion and worst friend ever. What keeps him from immediately decking the other nation is the nearly hysterical reaction.
France is a nation prone to great emotion, something for every occasion and person. There are layers upon layers upon layers, and then there are times it is stripped bare. It isn't always easy to see what is truly there, and this time...
Underneath the typical hysteria is something he doesn't see very often, especially directed towards him.
He crosses his arms and glares down at the doubled over figure, sounding pissy and put off, though there isn't much heat in his voice.]
I'm fucking disowning your stupid ass.
no subject
[France digs out a handkerchief that he's started to keep on himself (disposable tissues here are sad, ineffectual things) and dabs at his face for a bit. Good thing he's not wearing any cosmetics or he'd look like a cartoonish mess even more than he already does.]
[He straightens up, blowing out a long, somewhat shaky breath as he does. He grins, though, wide and happy and bright.]
You can try. It's not like I don't know every corner of this place. I will find you. There is no escape.
[This is not the time to channel Russia, France.]
no subject
Lisbeth doesn't count damnit. It makes him shift uneasily, so he suddenly grins, all pomp and arrogant smugness as he poses with his fists on his hips.]
Ha HA HA I knew you missed my awesomeness! I guess I'll put up with you now, creepy shit and all!
[Because wow that was creepy.
Typical France. It's probably sad how easily Prussia brushes it off. It certainly says something about the two of them.]
How long has it been since you've been graced with my presence?
[It's said in a haughty manner, as if he doesn't really care what the answer is, only that what matters is that France has been a deprived soul without him.
(Prussia genuinely does want to know, even if he likely won't admit that he cares.)]
no subject
[France pouts instead, hands going to his own hips.]
I am not creepy! And don't lie to yourself, Prussia: you can't live without my glorious loveliness in your life.
[France keeps a hand on his hip as he cocks it slightly, tapping his other hand's forefinger theatrically to the side of his lips as he thinks.]
Oh, dear, I can't remember something so insignificant. I think you missed out on the biggest event in this place's history, too. How typical.
no subject
You are the definition of creepy. The second entry right after Russia in a dictionary.
[Congrats, you are slightly better than Russia. (Ok for real he vastly prefers France over Russia though.)]
Meh.
[Yup, that's what he has to say for your "loveliness".]
Liar! [France receives the biggest, snottiest smirk in response.] You said you missed me [Not denying he missed him is basically admitting it. Too late, no take backs.] so out with it! I bet you counted the days since this place no longer has the benefit of my awesome presence.
[He's preening now. Look what you've done, France.]
I bet it's lame.
[LAME BECAUSE HE WASN'T HERE.]
