I had... a very strange dream...

The calendar says that three days have gone by. My left leg buckled when I tried to get up today, and my head feels like I've been hit with a sledgehammer.

Have I been ill?

When I woke, I... I thought...

I thought I could smell lilies...

[The 'Gear comes on to show Marianne's fuzzy red face. She looks worried, at least from the downturn of her dark eyes, before picking up the 'Gear. She brings it to an angle that captures France, who is lying in his bed in the Violet City Pokemon Center, staring listlessly at the ceiling. This is all the 'Gear picks up for a good few minutes before France turns his head slowly to the side, gazing with the same apathetic expression at Marianne and the 'Gear.]

Marianne...

[France sighs and sits up, a hand going briefly to the left side of his head and eyes fluttering as if the movement has made him dizzy. He reaches out and beckons Marianne over. The camera briefly catches France's two adopted Drifblims, Kai and Drifblim, and David hovering around the foot of the bed before it's switched off.]

[There isn't much France could say about things he'd done that would upset Envy. His voice is only barely audible when he does speak.] But that sort of thing's hard to accept anyway, yeah?

I've been working on that for over five hundred years.

Aaah, you've got two hundred on me already then. [Even his attempt at a more lighthearted tone comes off strained.]

[Still, it's a welcome change of topic, and France tries his best to latch onto it.]

[France pouts and snuggles closer.]

[Envy is also glad for the change, and grins a little.] Hmm, well you're over five hundred and I'm four hundred, so...

[Pouting so much now.]

I'm over a thousand, really, but that doesn't make me old! Nations are never old...

[They tend to die before they can get out of their prime. Well, except for Rome. But he was an abnormality.]

[He snickers amusedly at the pout, and leans to kiss him briefly. When he pulls back, he's still smirking.] Oh, I believe you~

[France kisses back lightly, his eyes betraying his own amusement. He hugs Envy, grinning.]

Of course you do. I'm amazing.

Hmm, well I can't really argue with that.

[He grins back and leans into the hug, and is quiet for a bit longer. Not out of awkwardness so much anymore; he's feeling oddly content being around France.]

[But oh right, there was something he should tell him...]

It's looking like I'm gonna have to leave Violet soon. The people I was with wound up in other places during...whatever that was.

[France absentmindedly threads his fingers through Envy's hair, humming absentmindedly for a moment. His face falls slightly, though, when Envy continues.]

Ah, really? So soon?

Yeah. [He nods and sighs.] But I've got to go get them. I'm meeting one on his way here from Cherrygrove, and before we move on again to get the other I'll come see you, hm?

[France sighs, too, and snuggles Envy.]

I understand. I'm not sure how much longer I'll stay in Violet myself; I have to admit that I miss city life.

Yeah, it'll be nice to get to that Goldenrod place. [He smirks, looking a bit impish.] And when you catch up, I'll come find you and we can have some fun.

[France leans up and kisses Envy fondly on the cheek, leaning in after to whisper against the shell of Envy's ear.]

I look forward to that.
