[Post 007] Text/Video/Action From Violet City Pokemon Center

I had... a very strange dream...

The calendar says that three days have gone by. My left leg buckled when I tried to get up today, and my head feels like I've been hit with a sledgehammer.

Have I been ill?

When I woke, I... I thought...

I thought I could smell lilies...

[The 'Gear comes on to show Marianne's fuzzy red face. She looks worried, at least from the downturn of her dark eyes, before picking up the 'Gear. She brings it to an angle that captures France, who is lying in his bed in the Violet City Pokemon Center, staring listlessly at the ceiling. This is all the 'Gear picks up for a good few minutes before France turns his head slowly to the side, gazing with the same apathetic expression at Marianne and the 'Gear.]

Marianne...

[France sighs and sits up, a hand going briefly to the left side of his head and eyes fluttering as if the movement has made him dizzy. He reaches out and beckons Marianne over. The camera briefly catches France's two adopted Drifblims, Kai and Drifblim, and David hovering around the foot of the bed before it's switched off.]

[.....abuh?

Um.

Whaaaaaaaaaat?]

I guess that is one theory. I was under the impression that this was a parallel universe to which we've been dragged into as a sick practical joke or a part of some strange trans-universal domination.

...I would prefer being in Hell to the latter; that sounds too much like some cheap American movie. :/

[Text] ...life in general makes me forsake sleep, mahn. like club activities 8|

[personal profile] miniworth 2010-12-03 09:44 am (UTC)(link)
I do not watch cheap American movies enough to judge. [It's all about those European detectives, and even then he prefers the novels more.]

[Text] True, true *is currently waiting for a phone call at 3AM*

[identity profile] of-france.livejournal.com 2010-12-03 09:51 am (UTC)(link)
Well, not all American movies are bad. There are some good ones. I enjoyed... Hm... I guess I've forgotten.

[Text] ...I got a text at 1:40 last night too. www /currently making handouts

[personal profile] miniworth 2010-12-03 09:54 am (UTC)(link)
I see.

I always liked reading better. My father would take me to the library whenever he had the chance, and he often bought me books.

[He wished he had even one of those books with him, right now.]

[Text] Handouts? *tilts head*

[identity profile] of-france.livejournal.com 2010-12-03 09:57 am (UTC)(link)
I love movies, but there is nothing like curling up with a good book and a hot drink. Your father sounds like a cultured man. :)

[Of course, France did tend to have a weak spot of trashy romance novels. He did read serious things... sometimes...]
miniworth: (Default)

[Text] Yep. Well, not much of a handout. It's for a club activity xD Rules and such~

[personal profile] miniworth 2010-12-03 10:01 am (UTC)(link)
He was. He said he didn't have time to read much, himself, but he loved books.

[Headcanon says that Edgeworth's family was a group of bookworms, and his mom had some trashy romance novels. He's looked through them but their contents went over young Miles' head, so he thinks they're confusing.]

[Text] Aa~ what kind of activity is it?

[identity profile] of-france.livejournal.com 2010-12-03 10:11 am (UTC)(link)
I do try to keep up Canada's education, but it's difficult here with so little reading material appropriate for teaching the boy. I worry that he might fall behind.

[personal profile] miniworth 2010-12-03 10:14 am (UTC)(link)
Violet City has a school, though, does it not? Profesor Layton said he was teaching there, before he ended up in Goldenrod.

[Text] Ooooh~ I hope it works out well! 83

[identity profile] of-france.livejournal.com 2010-12-03 10:21 am (UTC)(link)
The school only teaches in one language, and I want to make sure that Canada keeps up on his French and Latin. It's very important for him to be able to be fluent in both.
miniworth: (buh)

[Text] Thank you! *A* ;; Oooh sleep how I miss you.

[personal profile] miniworth 2010-12-03 10:23 am (UTC)(link)
[.....................Wait.]

By Canada, you mean the nation, Canada..?

[Text] Sleep is a foreign concept of young adults >>;;

[identity profile] of-france.livejournal.com 2010-12-04 06:49 am (UTC)(link)
He is a very young Nation; it seems that he is from a much earlier time period than I. It is my responsibility to make sure he is loved and cared for here.
miniworth: (Default)

[Text] True true. <w<;; I ended up getting 30 minutes of snooze last night. /orz

[personal profile] miniworth 2010-12-04 07:25 am (UTC)(link)
You're like his father, then. France and Canada.

He's lucky he has you here.

[Text] *snugs you!* I hope you get more tonight!

[identity profile] of-france.livejournal.com 2010-12-04 08:20 am (UTC)(link)
I can only try my best. :)
miniworth: (Default)

[Text] Me too! /snugs back!

[personal profile] miniworth 2010-12-04 08:22 am (UTC)(link)
I'm sure he's happy to have you, Mr. France.

I only hope I can do better by him than I have in the past. At least I can stay with him here without having to worry about being called back to war.
miniworth: (pensive)

[France you do realize you're talking to a kid whose father just died for a somewhat job-related reason don't you? Edgeworth's reply is a bit.. slower than it used to be as he falters a bit, feeling a twinge of envy towards Canada.

France was trying really hard to be a good father figure to Canada. While Gregory had been a great father as well, he was, just like France, always busy, often staying out late and working all day on his cases. Edgeworth missed him, especially since, unlike France, his father wasn't here, nor would he be waiting for Miles at home...]

Just having a father around can keep children like us happy, Mr. France. I'm glad you're able to be here with him.

[Text]

[identity profile] of-france.livejournal.com 2010-12-04 08:59 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you. :)

I'm sorry; it slipped my mind as we were speaking, and I... I did not mean to seem rude. *A*

[He really didn't intend to offend Edgeworth! Just... France is really concerned that Canada might have grown up to resent him. After all, Canada is mostly invisible in the future...]

[Text]

[personal profile] miniworth 2010-12-04 09:05 am (UTC)(link)
Please don't worry about it. It isn't a problem.

I cannot deny that I do feel a bit.. envious of Canada, but I am mostly happy for the two of you.

[E-Edgeworth totally understands, France! He's a mature ten-year-old. ;-; b ]

[Text]

[identity profile] of-france.livejournal.com 2010-12-04 09:10 am (UTC)(link)
You really are a very good young man. I am sure your father would be proud of you.

[Sometimes France wishes things had turned out differently, but, if he had had Canada much longer, Canada would have had to deal with France when he was going through his own Revolution and permutations of Republic and Empire, and that had not been a very nice time.]
miniworth: (Default)

[Text]

[personal profile] miniworth 2010-12-04 09:13 am (UTC)(link)
I can only hope so. [But despite only being five, short words, they seemed to hold a lot more hope than any of Edgeworth's previous messages.

ffff French Revolution. ;-; That is one of my most favorite parts of world history hsdjfh <3 ]

*sending lots of love your way~*

[[OOC: I actually concentrate the majority of my studies on the French Revolution onwards. It's so interesting and so complicated; I don't think I'm ever going to be able to learn enough. X3]]

[personal profile] miniworth 2010-12-04 09:22 am (UTC)(link)
...Excuse my ignorance, sir, how was I supposed to respond to that?

[Squicked Edgeworth is squicked.]

[[ ooc; O-oh man that sounds so cool. ;A; My World History class last year had a unit on Revolutions, and we spent ages on the French Revolution. Best period of my life <33 ]]

[Text]

[identity profile] of-france.livejournal.com 2010-12-04 09:41 am (UTC)(link)
It's only innocent affection! Like a hug or a smile! You don't need to take it too seriously. Relax, and be happy!

[[OOC: It's such a complicated period. I've spent... a few years on it now, working on different aspects, and there are so many different pieces of the puzzle to cover and uncover and recover again.]]

[personal profile] miniworth 2010-12-04 09:45 am (UTC)(link)
I'll try...

I'm not used to these kinds of things..

[[ ooc; That sounds really exciting, though! I just really really love history, so even just hearing that makes me go "squee!" <3 ]]
