[There is no other warning except, perhaps, your ears, which might pick up France's resounding, triumphant shout of -]

FREEDOM!!!

[The scene opens to a most happy France. Very happy, indeed. Yes, he's so happy, in fact, it appears he's decided to run through Goldenrod, laughing and trapezing about, a blond, cat-like tail swishing happily behind his stark naked body.]

[Yes, Johto. This is the infamous Republic of France, Nation of Beauty, Light, and, most importantly, Liberty.]

[He's somehow gotten blond cat ears; whether or not their fake is very hard to discern. He appears to be sparkling à la Edward Cullen, most obviously naked as the day he was born (although whether Nation are born or something else is unclear). Thankfully, it appears there is a conveniently-placed rose over his crotch, but that doesn't distract from the otherwise stark nakedness. In fact, it makes it even more apparent.]

No need to worry about that. We're either dead or we return to the exact moment we left our worlds, so the stove won't matter either way.

[He leans forward, batting his eyelashes at Spain.]

You should pay more attention to the here and now. Specifically me.

But I don't want to die-- ( ( Leaning back and staring up. Why so close. ) ) Um, how. . . are you?

[France follows after; he's not going to let Spain go away again. He pouts a cutely as possible.]

You left me all alone here. How do you think I am?

( ( He can't lean back anymore without breaking his back or something. And what is this vaguely cute look, s-stop that. ) )

[He slinks his arms around Spain's waist.]

I'm lonely. You left me and I got England instead.

But you like England! At least, I thought you did. C'mon, hermano, you don't need me.

[He glares, tears of an actor in his eyes.]

I don't want England! I want you, and you left me even so! You're so mean!

I-I'm here! A-ay, I'm here! Don't be mad, Francia, I didn't know. . .

[France sniffles, snuggling close to Spain and further onto his lap.]

You're a liar! You're going to leave me again, I just know it!

It's the truth! I didn't-- are you crying? A-ay! ( ( Holding France in a hug. Spain can't stand to have his brother upset.) ) Don't cry, Francia, I'm here and I won't go away, promise.

[France hugs Spain back, sniffling still. He gives Spain a watery-eyed, hopeful look.]

And you'll let me keep Romano!

[France pouts, but there's a hard edge to his eyes.]

I've been taking good care of him since you abandoned us! He's happy with me. Besides, since you're staying you'll have him, too, and we'll be like a real family!

( ( And Spain lets go of France. He looks the same as usual but there's a serious glint in his eyes, ) )

I didn't abandon Romano! You know Austria took him from me back then. ( ( Yup, totally misunderstanding things. ) ) And he grew up to be a strong nation with his brother so he doesn't need you ( ( Jabbing France in the chest with his finger, ) ) or me keeping him to be family.

[France blinks before his lips twitch slightly at the jabbing finger in his chest. He leans forward again, invading Spain's space.]

But I'm not talking about the past. This is the here and now, and Romano is a small child again. He hasn't grown up yet; he doesn't know you lost him. I could tell him--tell him everything--, but I'm your friend, Espagne, a very good and generous friend, and I haven't. Not yet at least.

( ( Blink, blink. Processing, processing. . . wait. ) )

He's. Still small?

Yes. Looks around six to eight years old, and he's such a doll since coming to live with me.

( ( Faster than you blink, Spain's already switched to protective papá and boss mode. ) )

I told you; he isn't going to live with you! And you're going to stay away from him!

[France just raises an eyebrow. You have no power over this France.]

Oh? Then where is he going to live? With you, who disappears so often? You can't even feed him properly. I'm taking much better care for him as it is.
