[Post 028] Video/Action for Goldenrod City (Backdated to 5/31)

[In the aftermath of the past weekend, France has apparently decided he needs to spend quality time with his pokemon. The video comes on to a good lot of them huddled on France's bed, bunched up around him as he starts the video. How he came to this conclusion is a mystery in and of itself. Well, let's hear about the reasoning from the horse's mouth -]

HACKHACKcoughcoughHACK

[Or not. It appears that, due to spending 3 full days running around exposed to the elements by means of being stark naked, has taken a toll on this Nation-once-more-turned-human. The fit tapers off and he clears his throat.]

How do you treat a cold with cough, fever, and congestion here?

[He pauses for a long time before continuing in a very quiet voice.]

And can someone explain to me why I woke up naked in the next to the Radio Tower with no memory of the past three days?

[France tries to cough, but the berry is making his mouth feel very waxy and his throat painfully parched. He scoots off the bed quickly, going to the small fridge and pulling out a water bottle. He gulps it down hurriedly, turning back to see the Energy Root.]

Oh, God, it is that old woman's work.

[Okay. Now he's insulted.]

Don't talk about her like that! Dumb ass, you have no idea how to treat a lady in the least! [He'd put away the root, but by God he was going to help France recover from this sickness right now.]

Ungrateful bastard. [He hops off the bed and makes his way to the door with his basket in tow.]

I'm going to make you something healthy to drink. And you better appreciate it this time, bastard, or else I'll make you suffer my worst attacks.

[France glares.]

Evil old crone.

[But using the Energy Root does make sense; the lady has said that both pokemon and humans can benefit from it. Sulky, France sits back down in bed, giving Romano a grouchy scowl.]

Fine. But use sugar.

[He heard that. He tries to match France's glare but eventually relents with France's oh so obvious defeat.]

Good. I'll only use enough sugar to make it go down better, but other than that you should be fine with only a teaspoon. You're supposed to be an "adult", moron. [Romano: 1 France: 0]

[To anyone else (and to Romano, if he was an adult), France would make a very rude gesture and say something equally as crass, but he simply glares at Romano, lying back against Marianne who makes a high cooing sound, nuzzling his cheek affectionately. He cuddles up against her, pouting.]

Being an adult doesn't mean I've lost my taste buds.

Being an adult also means that you take your medicine like an adult. If I were an adult, you wouldn't see my crying about something as dumb as medicine.

[He'll also be incredibly mature and have a large house with a variety of material objects, but he leaves that out. Romano doesn't know how to give France the Energy Root but he gets as creative as possible. Rather than going downstairs for the sugar, he searches his pockets for a small piece of much too sweet candy and hands both the candy and the root to France.]

If you give it to Marianne instead, I'll know, so don't be a dumbass and take your medicine right now.

[France just glares, utterly surly. In his opinion, it's perfectly fine to complain about medicine.]

[He takes the candy and the Root reflexively, staring at the two objects in his hands. At Romano's words, France rolls his eyes.]

I can't take it like this.

[He sighs, moving to slide off the bed and get to his bag.]

It need to be powdered and mixed.

[Romano glares right back until France moves and breaks his concentration. However, that's excusable in the light of the brand new idea.]

I can do it! Let me do it, let me! Let me!

[He looks eager - perhaps too eager - to powder the medicine. Perhaps he'll be able to use a mallet all by himself. Or perhaps he'll have to dip the root in flour and sugar. Either option sounded sane to him.]

[France gives Romano opens his mouth before dissolving into a rather violent coughing fit. He sets aside the root and the candy to cover his mouth, sitting back down on the bed to ride it out. Breathing slightly unsteadily after the coughing subsides, France gives up, flopping back to lie on the bed with his legs dangling off the side.]

Large back pocket. Moltar and pestle.

[He scrambles to find the mortar and pestle, glad to be allowed exactly what he wanted. After finding the items, he quickly grabs the root and the candy and tosses them into the mortar.

After a few failed attempts, most of which had the root and candy flying out of the mortar rather than staying in, Romano eventually found the rhythm and managed to break the candy into chunks. The root, however, managed to maintain a significant number of bruises and not much else.]

Stupid root... come on, become powder already!

[France turns to watch Romano at it. If there's anything he can admire about the boy, it's his tenacity. It is stubbornness, to some extent, but Nations rarely got anywhere without some measure of that.]

Try chopping a bit of the root off and grinding that. I doubt I need the entire root at once, anyhow.

[Romano gives France a dirty look. He was trying to prove that he could handle pounding a root on his own, not take advice from his sick patients.]

Who's the one making the medicine, damn it? But since this much medicine might be bad for you I'll do just that.

[With a little difficulty, and using just the pestle, Romano manages to chop off a chunk of root. It sits in the mortar in two nearly equal parts. Romano picks up the bigger looking piece, sets it to the side, and attempts to pummel the remaining portion.]

[France is Big Brother: he will never stop giving advice. He shrugs one shoulder, smiling a little.]

It's only a suggestion that might make your job a bit easier.

[He is secretly pleased and grateful that Romano takes the advice. France doesn't fancy having to eat anymore of that bitter thing than he has to.]
