[Post 002] Video/Action Outside New Bark

[The video comes on revealing a very, very pleased France. Yes, he's the kind of pleased that normally is associated with bedroom activities and winning a war. Marianne sits in the background, looking equally as pleased.]

We will eat well tonight.

[He holds up a number of KO'd Rattata and Pidgey by their tails and feet and beams with happy satisfaction at the screen.]

Are these better roasted or braised?

[He makes a sound in agreement before sighing and glancing over his shoulder to make sure that Canada isn't listening.]

I do not know how God could punish him and place him here. He is just a child...

[Of course France was still thinking that everyone in this world had been damned to Hell. Still... why not mess with the man's head for a bit? China is barely able to hold back a devilish smirk.]

It's probably your fault, aru. Last time I checked, you're not really a saint ,aru. Why else would you two be in Hell together, aru?

[He stares at China for a long, long time. The only indication that he heard China speak and the screen isn't frozen is the twitching muscle under his left eye.]

You would condemn young, innocent Canada to this?!

Never did I say that it was Canada's fault, aru. Either way, at least you found him before Opium could, aru. Seeing you and Canada together makes me wish that Hong Kong was with me right now, aru.

Plus you're not being engulfed by flames, so I would assume that's a sign from God, aru?

You implied it was his fault.

[He smiles slightly, eyes conveying a bit of hope for once.]

I think Canada's appearance--however unfair it is to him--might be God's way of telling me that I am not abandoned... He works in strange ways.

I... did, didn't I, aru. [And now comes the guilt trip. It's not that he disliked Canada (he was way more polite than that burger-loving brother of his), he just wanted to get a reaction from France. But of course that wasn't going to happen with Canada around.]

There's another possibility, aru.

Anyways, back to the subject of food, aru. As tasty as those pokemon look, I don't think it's legal for us to eat them in this world, aru. Too bad, aru. That pidgey could have been the equivalent to roasted duck, aru...

[Inwardly, France smirks; he's won this one. Outwardly, he looks calm.]

Yes. He's such a good child.

[He does look rather putout by China's declaration.]

Illegal? You're the second... or third... person to tell me that. I guess it must be true... But what the authorities don't know can't hurt them...
